TODAY'sQUOTES

"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever."

- Lance Armstrong. Armstrong is an American professional road racing cyclist and cancer survivor. He won the Tour de France a record-breaking seven consecutive years

"To be successful you have to be selfish, or else you never achieve. And once you get to your highest level, then you have to be unselfish. Stay reachable. Stay in touch. Don't isolate."

"If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

- Michael Jordan. Jordan's biography on the National Basketball Association (NBA) website states, "By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time."

One of the things I'm SO grateful for in my life is being surrounded by a group of peers who help to lift me up. If I had to name ALL the people who have helped me along my path get to where I am, the list would be as long as the ending credits to a movie.

There are some people who are my age, my generation, who make a difference in my life. They are my peer group and I love 'em like crazy! In case you are wondering who these super rad peers are, they are Marie Forleo, Brian Johnson, Kris Carr, Gabby Bernstein, Danielle LaPorte, Maya Watson, Ryland Engelhart and Nick Ortner. There are DOZENS more folks I could name, but I'm naming these people because they are my age and I feel like we are a part of a "pledge class" that has found one another to help usher in a new generation of transformational voices.

And what I love about each of these people is that we all talk. We communicate. We help each other. We talk about our problems and our issues. We talk about things that we have going on and brainstorm better ways to do things. And most of all - we SUPPORT each other - because after all, we all have the same mission. And if we can't get along - then quite frankly - I think the world would be screwed (lol).

I've only recently met this really amazing pledge class of peers and yet I feel like I've known them for lifetimes. And what's so amazing is that I am UTTERLY inspired by each of them. They, to me, represent not only new and fresh voices, but they have style, class and most importantly integrity. It is by me meeting this amazing group that I am inspired to raise my standards. To do more, to BE more and to BECOME more. They help push me to be a better person, a better boyfriend, a better son and a better mentor. It's an age-old adage that we become the five people we spend the most amount of time with - and if I get to become like these people - then I can't WAIT for that!!

They have shown me, by their demonstration, that it's TOTALLY ok for me to be me. And the more I do that, the RADDER my life will become. And they've also shown me that life is all about service at the end of the day.

They really sum up one of my all-time favorite Beatles lyrics, "I get by with a little help from my friends."

Guys, thank you so much for who you are and what you do and how you show up. It's inspiring to me and I'm so HONORED to be able to call you each my friend!

So, my daily lover - in your life, do you have people who lift you up? Who inspire you to become more? To be better? To help you when you are down? Let's discuss! And if anyone needs some support, let the TDL Community know in the comments on the BLOG.
