TODAY'sQUOTES

"If you look to others for fulfillment, you will never be truly fulfilled."

- Lao Tzu, was a mystic philosopher of ancient China, and best known as the author of the Tao Te Ching.

"Everything you try to avoid about yourself will keep playing out insidiously in your life. This creates the perfect opportunity for you to embrace, love and heal this part of yourself."

- Melanie Tonia Evans
- Author & women's self-empowerment teacher

"Every person with whom you interact is a part of the person you are becoming. Not a single interaction with a single person is left out of the process of your becoming. Many assume that only pleasing relationships have value, but that is not the case. Your awareness of an unwanted situation evokes from you a clear Vibrational request for something different. And so, even those uncomfortable interactions with others form the Vibrational basis of your expansion."

- Esther Hicks
, best-selling author and speaker.

"The opposite of Love is not hate. The opposite of love is indifference."

- Timothy Ferriss, author of "The Four Hour Work Week".

So, it's that time of the year again. Political rhetoric is at an all-time high. With an election coming, it seems to be something that we are all inundated with.

I can hear some of you right now saying, "OH NO MASTIN, I READ TDL TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS CONVERSATION!" And I get it. I'm not here to tell you who to vote for or what to believe. TDL transcends the polarization of politics. We make LOVE the bottom line which includes LEFT, RIGHT and CENTER.

What I'm writing about today is that I hope that no matter what you believe - you get involved. Why? Because it is people like us who are doing the inner work who will help to change the world and course correct it! To think that politics and spirituality don't mix is short sighted.

Gandhi once said, "Is not politics a part of dharma, too?"

You see, if we are to live a spiritually full life - we must participate in life. And every area of life is sacred. That truly is the lesson. There is no area of life that is not sacred. Be it our spiritual practice, our relationships, our friendships, our business, our politics, disease, etc. Every area of our lives - when we bring our spiritual awareness and practice TO IT - transforms for the better.

So, if we want the world to change - we don't demonize others. There is no "us" and "them". If you hadn't noticed 1% + 99% = 100%. We are a whole country and a whole world. Separation is a myth. And to turn our heads away from politics or any other area of our life because it is uncomfortable is to sell ourselves short and not truly be living our calling.

If you want reform, change and for your belief in LOVE to be the bottom line - then it is exactly YOU who must be involved. I shied away from politics and other areas of life for a long time because I thought the two conversations were different. But thanks to Marianne Williamson, I now see that they aren't.

Marianne has become a dear friend and mentor to me and she has helped to open my eyes to how important bringing spirituality, love and consciousness to the political conversation are. It won't be the usual suspects who do it. No. It will be you and me.

So, if this sounds rad, Marianne is actually hosting an AWESOME gathering in L.A. Nov. 10 and 11 for us to be heard. It's called Sister Giant. I am getting behind this event, not because I'm a Democrat or Republican, but because I believe that it's time we make LOVE the bottom line, not only in our yoga and our green juice, but in our politics as well.

And it is US who can stand to make this shift. If you aren't in L.A. on those dates, Marianne is also going to be doing a LIVESTREAM of the event, so you can join online! Let us stand together and bring our practice to this area of life that needs us so desperately.

And make sure to check out SisterGiant.com.

We need YOU to get involved - are you willing to go there? Head on over to the BLOG and leave a comment on my article "WAKE UP & get involved!" and let's keep the discussion going!

Love,

Mastin
